Proenza Schouler Talk To WHO?
Imagine my excitement when my RSS reader came up with the first real Proenza Schouler blog post. "The Proenza Schouler boys talk inspiration with the stylist Katie Barker...," it said. "Cool!" I thought. "Katie Barker, why she's ... she's ... Why, I have no idea who she is." Katy Barker is an agent in London who represents lots of cool people in fashion, but none of them are stylist Katie Grand who it turns out is the actual subject of the post. Anyway, enough with the nitpicking. The Q&A with stylist, Pop Magazine editor, now-you-see-her-now-you-don't creative director for Mulberry, Katie Grand tells us a lot about Katie Grand -- her first magazine was called Eat Me! and she has a secret fantasy about working in Starbucks -- but very little about Proenza Schouler except that Katie Grand thinks they are, "the closest to English people out of any Americans I've ever met." Which makes me think she might not be so happy at Starbucks after all. □
