What To Wear On Your Favorite Talk Show

Dream of being in the audience of Martha Stewart, Tyra Banks, Rachel Roy or Ellen DeGeneres or Oprah? You'd better watch what you wear. Each has specific guidelines for audience members, spelled out in today's WWD. Not surprisingly, Martha has the most specific instructions: The show recommends "a chic dress, dressy jeans, or trendy and fashionable outfits," "dress shoes and heels" for women. For men, "Polo-type shirts or a button-up shirt are best, with or without a blazer or jacket -- it's your call."

Ellen says: "No "Ellen gear"-- i.e., T-shirts with the Ellen logo, shorts, beachwear, shirts with large logos. Coordinating/matching outfits are not allowed."

Oprah favors bright colors and frowns on beige and black.

Rachel Ray and Tyra both have a thing against ankles: Not only no shorts, but no capri or gaucho pants allowed either. Both also nix ripped jeans and track suits -- even velour ones. Take that Juicy Girls!

Tyra's website also says: "NO EXTREME HAIRSTYLES and NO LOGOS OF ANY KIND."

And the most relaxed show? The View. They say "anything." Except, "arriving naked."
