Celebrity Scents: Will We Finally Get To Smell Madonna?

It seems a Madonna fragrance may well be on the way. It's been talked about for years, but apparently the fee she wanted -- $10 million up front -- which was considered prohibitive before is now in the realm of possibility. Madonna.jpg Many celebrities get no upfront fee, but receive from two to five percent of the profits, according to WWD. But could Madonna have waited too long? Industry experts seem unsure. On one hand, the women with the big celebrity hits -- Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez -- are all over 35, but still appeal to young women. On the other. . . well one executive told WWD that Madonna was "the Liz Taylor of her generation." Hmmm. Maybe the project would have smelled better if it had coincided with the publication of Sex.
