Milan Fashion Week: The Top-Bottom/East-West Armani Divide

The Armani show is always an amusing one to observe. The New York contingent of fashion editors pretty much hate it -- preferring more modern talents like Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga. But the LA styling brigade always like it. Why? Well, the evening stuff is great for their clients. And Armani was the first out there working with them to fulfill their clients every desire. This show was somewhat different in that the much of what was on the top half of the models -- little wrap jackets with boat-neck collars -- appealed to fashion editors. But the bottom half -- ballooning shorts tied up on the sides? -- um, well, maybe in L.A.
