Cheers, London. Ciao, Milano!

On Monday morning I'll be on a plane going to Milan for two nights. It's an abbreviated fashion week, but leaves me enough time to hit Prada, Pringle and Burberry. The shows, I mean. Not the shops. Though you never know. I don't often do product spots here but I thought I would share with you two fashion week discoveries. Ones that have become essentials, particularly given the liquids ban at airports. I'll be damned if I'm going to check my bags for a two night trip. Have you seen the stacks of unclaimed bags at Heathrow?

The first is a solid perfume by Chanel. It's part of the limited-edition Cambon collection and goes on completely dry. I guess it works using the same principle a deodorant does, though I'm sure that's not the comparison they had in mind when they created it. The scent is Coco Mademoiselle. It's a hefty $120 but given that you can take it onto an airplane and there's no risk of spills in you bag, I think it's worth it. Everyone who has tried it agreed.

Another fashion week discovery came in a L'Oreal goody bag at the Julien Macdonald show. (The L'Oreal logo was bigger than his name on the runway.) It's their new powder foundation, L'Oreal's Bare Naturale Powder, and it's only $15. It has SPF 15 and works just as good as liquid foundation, plus you can ... that's right ... carry it onto a plane. For now at least, until a anthrax scare and they ban powders too.

Happy travels.
