Fashion Inc Live at Anne Klein

My favorite show of New York fashion week was Anne Klein. It is Isabel Toledo's second designer collection for the label. This is a top-tier label that sells at Barneys, with the prices you'd expect. Dresses, for instance, begin at $1,000. Across the street from Barneys is the old Anne Klein store. In the months that come, I look forward to watching to see what impact she makes on the less-expensive line. A rare talent like Toledo is well-versed at making extremely special pieces, and that's what she's done with the designer collection, but that doesn't necessarily mean she'll succeed on adding the right touch to the main collection. Of course, with a wearable collection like the one she showed in New York, the indicators are good. Here are some thoughts from retailers, fashion editors and the company on why the match seems to be working.
