Fashion Week: Coming From America, Zac Posen + Anne Klein

Oh what a happy time to be at the New York collections. Zac Posen presented a tribute to America, from pilgrim to bale of wheat. Yes, really. It was my first Zac show and I look forward to seeing the collection up close this afternoon in his studio. What amazed me was the range -- from cloud-covered blue sky dresses to muslin prarie dresses. Oh go look for yourself. Waxing lyrical about design has never been my thing. One of the great things about Zac's set up is that he has his own atellier in New York. Everything is designed and most of the samples are produced in house. And with much of his production in New York, he is able to keep close tabs on the quality of the collection.

Also today: Anne Klein/Isabel Toledo. I am kind of fascinated by this collaboration. So fascinated that I bought a dress and a tunic top at Barneys yesterday. And, get this, I paid full price. Woah. Anyway, the Anne Klein/Isabel Toledo show today was my favorite of the week. Isabel makes simply beautiful clothes. They're different, but in a subtle way that is obvious with anyone with an eye for fashion, but don't draw too much attenton to themselves. Perfect for working women, which is what Anne Klein set out to do in the first place. I'm going to talk more about Klein, but I'll have to do it from London. It's au revoir New York for me. Stay tuned for my wrap up video, coming soon.
