Facchinetti Named as Design Chief for Valentino

Former Gucci designer Alessandra Facchinetti has been tapped to take over for Valentino Garavani after he announced his 45-year tenure at the design house he helped create would come to an end this January.

It still leaves the question of why Proenza Schouler would sell so much of their company for so little. I heard they were being advised by their PR, Pierre Rouget. Maybe that explains it. Note to young designers: PRs might know the value of a page in Vogue, but when you're doing a money deal you need to hire a money man.
