Fashion Week: Anticipation

Fashionista is tracking which designers have snagged which celebrities. (But, note to Fashionista, fashion editors really don't care. They're not pretending. Celebrities just mean more bullying by security and fewer seats in the front row). And, on the other end of the fashion spectrum, Refinery 29 has a series of videos with up-and-coming designers preparing for their fashion shows. Up today is Alexander Wang who says the after party is "the main event for me" (uh oh) but waxes lyrical on the beauty of fashion sins of yore (i.e. in the age of Brooke Shields and Kim Basinger). His collection is about "taking those fashion faux pas and making them modern and fresh." He describes the party as a sketchy underground rave house party. Call me old, but I think I'd rather see the show.
