MTV Gets Into The Fashion Game

MTV has invested in the new fashion label of the star of its reality show, The Hills, Lauren Conrad. It's the latest sign that the entertainment world is seeking to capitalize on the marketing potential of its talent. In addition to the financing, MTV introduced Conrad to the new creative director of her label. Earlier moves by entertainment mogus include Harvey Weinstein's investment in Halston and Simon Fuller's backing of Roland Mouret.
