How Much Would You Pay For J.Crew?

J.Crew has announced the launch of a new collection. An expensive collection. A really expensive collection called, J.Crew Collection. It will have a web site this fall and a store in Manhattan on the expensive Upper East Side in April. Prices run from about $600 for cashmere jackets to almost $2,000 for evening gowns. Judging from the photos and description in WWD, it's a lot like the regular J.Crew stuff, but in nicer fabrics. C.E.O. Mickey Drexler said the launch was due to customer demand and thinks the quality of the items will justify the price points for consumers.
