Will Fashion Be More Forgiving Than Film For Lindsay Lohan? Louis Vuitton Says "See-Ya!
Lindsay Lohan is joining the ranks of Posh Spice as a toxic celeb, unable even to borrow clothes. Jil Stuart recently decided not to use Lindsay in their ads and now Page Six reports that Louis Vuitton will no longer even lend her clothes after she kept packing the clothes they had loaned for a U.S. Elle cover shoot shoot into her bag.

In the end she made off with a shirt and other bits and bobs that had been scheduled to be sent to Vogue and Harper's Bazaar for other shoots. Even a big company like Vuitton will only have one or two samples of each piece from a collection -- pieces the press offices have to pay for from their budget -- so when they're gone, they're gone -- or they have to be sent from Paris, which is pretty much the same thing since it requires the French press office putting American Vogue in front of French Vogue and you can guess how much they love that.
Elle has posted a chat with Lindsay during the shoot where she talks about her desire to collaborate with a designer on a capsule collection, or even just a bag. Good luck now, baby. There are some behind-the-scenes photos too, but none capture her stuffing Vuitton stuff into her bag. What I don't get is why everyone thinks having Lindsay on the cover of Elle is going to be bad for Elle. OK, she was arrested days after the shoot, but since when wasn't a bit of controversy a good thing for magazine sales?
Judging from the excerpt online, it will be a funny read -- not your average piece of puff:
It would be an easy transition from there to what Lohan is wearing and eating and promoting. That's the way these things go. But there's the picture, and then there's the bigger picture. The one in which the camera pulls back to reveal the star smiling, knowing what's going on behind her back. After all, she picked the restaurant, she picked the table outside. "When I pulled up, there were three paparazzi following me," Lohan says. "I wanted you to see it. But you weren't here." She looks disappointed; as if she were wishing I could have seen the dogs hounding the fox into the safety of this celebrity wildlife refuge, famous for its $33 crab cakes, $13 Ivy gimlets, and big-game photo ops. Now I wouldn't be able to relay the thrilling awfulness of what she has to survive to get a decent meal. But all is not lost. Lohan brightens: "I can't wait for you to see what happens when we leave!"Now we all know.
