Old Designers Creeping Onto The Net

Giorgio Armani has announced that he's going to launch an Emporio Armani store on A Second Life and a real ecommerce store in the U.S. Business of Fashion was unimpressed that it took Armani seven years to get around to e-commerce, but it's the A Second Life store that interests me more -- so much so that I even got an account, something even the A Second Life Stella McCartney fur protest couldn't drive me to do. Because on A Second Life Emporio Armani, trolling the floor looking for signs of imperfection and untidy racks, is going to be avatar of Mr. Armani himself. Sadly, he will have been beaten to the digital punch by Christian Lacroix. Thanks to Stylescribble for pointing me to the site that La Redoute has done for the new Christian Lacroix collaboration. lacroix2-large.jpg It's a rather amazing bit of technology. I can't tell you what technology, but check it out. It's pretty and it comes complete with a talking head of Mr. Lacroix. lacroix1-large.jpg Oh and Lily Cole too. □
