Louis Vuitton Goes Into Its First British Mall

Westfield, the developers of Europe's biggest mall, located in White City, London, have just announced that Louis Vuitton is the first luxury brand confirmed to have signed up as a tenant. Real estate sources told me that Westfield was giving great deals -- as much as two year's free rent -- to lure brands like Vuitton into its halls. Why? White City isn't exactly Mayfair. It sits on the border of Holland Park, but over a very large and conjested roundabout. Other luxury brands rumored to be courted include Tiffany, Dior and Prada.

The mall is located conveniently (or depending on how you look at it) close to my house. Local residents have been complaining that the plans don't include nearly enough parking. But if they succeed in luring enough luxury brands, maybe they should be more concerned about limo drop-off.
