Gap Gets A New C.E.O.

Gap has announced that it has hired Glen Murphy, the former C.E.O. of Shoppers Drug Mart, to take the top job. The choice is apparently not a popular one with the employees, who were hoping for someone with more fashion experience. A source told the New York Post:

"Gary is a good guy, but he doesn't know an armhole from a sock."

Similar things were said when Robert Polet, "the frozen food king" left Unilever and took the helm at Gucci Group. But outside executives, like Poulet and Tony Belloni, the C.O.O at LVMH who came from P&G, have proved to be more than capable leaders.
