Bebe and Biba: Both Owned By The Same Guy

WWD reports that Manny Mashouf, chairman and founder of the US retailer Bebe, has bought 60 percent of the London-brand Biba. It's a personal investment, not linked to the Bebe chain. Biba's relaunch was a great disappointment for London's fashionistas for whom the brand retains legendary status. Here's hoping that Mashouf will invoke a few of Bebe's traits -- fashion at a reasonable price. Which was what Biba was all about back in the beginning.
