Saint Monica -- Taking Care Of Your Broken Expensive Stuff

Oh man. I have always admired my former colleague Monica Corcoran, because she's pretty much up for anything. (Remind me to tell you sometime about our road trip through Montana.) But now I'm afraid she's gone too far. Not content to be the Style Editor and blogger at Variety, she's now appointed herself Style Sheriff. (That Montana trip must have made an impact). She's offering to take any of your faulty luxury goods and solicit retribution from the makers.

The Stylephile has long been disgusted by fashion and beauty injustices--not to mention cheaply made items with inflated price tags. Do the following culprits sound familiar? Sunglasses that cost $320 and break after just three wearings? A pair of $750 heels that endure just four outings before the leather peels off the toe? How about a $42 lipstick that breaks in half after a week of pouts?

Readers, you need not suffer anymore. The Style Sheriffs are here to right the wrongs and replace those broken dreams. From now on, email Monica.Corcoran@Variety.com if you have a faulty item and have had no luck in getting the attention of the store, designer or manufacturer. Please don't send items that cost less than $50 or products that malfunctioned as a result of poor handling. Or addled thinking. For instance, if you wore your suede shoes to the beach and they got wet and ruined, do not appeal to the Style Sheriffs.

Monica's kinda new to the fashion game -- she used to cover independent film for In Style (no snickering, she knows it is funny) -- I'm afraid she has no idea how much stuff she's about to have sent her way. Price hasn't equalled quality in quite some time. But I will enjoy watching Monica take the big brands to task. And I am already preparing my shipment. First on her whipping post? Tom Ford for broken sunglasses. Ride 'em, Cowgirl.
