Swarovski And The Serpentine

Nadja Swarovski sponsored the annual Serpentine Gallery party last night. Officially it is a fundraiser for the museum. Unofficially, it is the biggest frock night of the year in London. While the fashion industry flock -- who outnumbered artists at least 5 to 1 -- whispered to each other, "is this getting cheesy?", the ladies they design for and sell to were out in all their finery. Below are some of my (rather pathetic) snaps of friends and fab dresses. Much better ones of famous people on Vogue.comand Style.com later today.

For Swarovski, it was also a chance to show the chandeliers they commission for the Milan Furniture Fair to a different audience. A fashion audience. Just a few of the fashion industry people who were there: Saffron Aldridge, Hussein Chalayan, Jasmine Guinness, Jefferson Hack, Christopher Kane, Liberty Ross, Jonathan Saunders, Alice Temperley, Natalia Vodianova, Amanda Wakeley, Vivienne Westwood, Jade Jagger, Jens Laugesen, Christopher Bailey, and Giles Deacon.

And from the world of art? Dinos Chapman, Michael Craig-Martin, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Tim Jefferies, Juergen Teller and Wolfgang Tillmans.

Of course for a company like Swarovski that supplies fashion designers, that's just fine.
