The New Men In Men's Wear
The critically acclaimed Versace men's wear show is thought to be the work of a new consultant, designer Alexandre Plokhov, who has his own line called Cloak. I hear that Balenciaga is also on the hunt for a new men's wear designer. Apparently the huge success of Balenciaga has meant it's just too much work for designer Nicolas Ghesquiere to do on his own. Style Scribble has spotted Hedi Slimane prowling the streets of Paris.

Back On The Runway Again? Hedi Slimane Has Been Spotted In Paris
Slimane recently left the LVMH job as designer of Dior Homme. (He's been replaced by Kris Van Assche who showed his first Dior Homme collection yesterday. Tim Blanks at Style.com called it "somewhat schizo"). Would PPR, parent company of Balenciaga, consider Slimane for the Balenciaga job? Common sense would say no. After all, it has been doing darn well on the fashion front since shedding their last big personality -- Tom Ford. And, Nicolas, while mostly sweet has, I hear, his own diva habits. I don't think the house of Balenciaga is big enough for both of them. Let's hope he was just there meeting potential investors in a new men's brand called Hedi Slimane.
