Crocs: The Latest Trend That Just Won't Die

Robin Givhan of the Washington Post comes up with another reason to think President George W. Bush might not be that bright -- he wears socks with his Crocs.

That, she points out, shows Bush misses the point of Crocs completely. See those little holes, George? They're there to let air and water in and out. But even more shocking than another Bush faux pas is the revelation that 4 million pairs of Crocs are made each month.

It makes me fear that Crocs can no longer be dismissed as a fad. Like Ugg boots, black opaque tights, white T-shirts, leather bomber jackets, and the little black dress, they seem destined to become a staple of our collective closets. And that is very scary indeed.
