Garrard: Jade Out, Stephen Webster In

The rumors were true: Stephen Webster, above, is going to replace Jade Jagger as creative director of Garrard, the British jeweler to the royal family. Expect an official announcement soon. The rumors started swirling after Ron Burkle, who bought Garrard last year, bought 49 percent of Stephen Webster on Friday. Private equity would never buy less than half a company without a hidden agenda. In this case, it was to secure Webster's services at Garrard, which makes the Queen's crowns among other trifles.
