Lindsay Lohan and the Mystery Dress
Two days ago, fashionista reported that Lindsay Lohan would attend the Vogue benefit for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art -- otherwise known as the Party Of The Year -- wearing Bally. And, indeed, Brian Atwood, the new creative director of Bally, had told Women's Wear Daily (subscription only) that he had designed for her a "full-length silk dress with a jeweled bodice, matching Galuchat clutch and a simply sexy black satin sandal inspired by a Fifties Bally original." Looking at the 30 some pictures of Lindsay on the night in question on JustJared I had to ask myself, "is that a jeweled bodice?"

No, I decided, definitely not. Then, while looking for reports of how Kate Moss was faring in New York while her demented boyfriend was trying to trade her goods for cab fare in England, I read this about the dress she wore on night:
"Lindsay Lohan walked the red carpet wearing a shear long black gown designed by Brian Atwood who is the creative director for Bally. She said: 'It's chic and I never wear dresses like this. It's nice to dress up.'"
A dress by Brian Atwood? Or a dress by Brian Atwood for Bally? Love or hate Lindsay, with tickets at $10,000 a pop, you've got to admit that the folks at Bally deserved to see the girl in their duds. Lets hope that Atwood had decided to pack two Bally dresses.
And in other Lindsay news, one of her friends decided to do a Kate Moss style intervention and took some snaps of her in the loo applying white powder to the inside of her friends' noses. Goodness. With friends like that...
