A Celebrity Collection Worth Raving About
I just saw the new Sienna Miller clothing collection. I'm happy to report, it's fantastic. Forget about Madonna, Kylie, J.Lo, Kate Moss, and Lily Allen and the rest of those rather weak 'collaborations,' this one, called twenty8twelve (Sienna's birthday) is worth waiting for. It will be in stores on Aug. 1. And there's one big reason why. Sienna's sister, Savannah, is an actual trained designer. While finishing a degree at Central Saint Martins four years ago, she spent a stint at Alexander McQueen and has done work for the likes of Matthew Williamson and Betty Jackson upon graduating. If you want to see what the Kate Moss clothes look like on real people, check out Catwalk Queen.
There are well-cut coats with pleated skirts, lovely blouses done in collaboration with artist David Cooper who designed the print, and fantastic jeans with zips up the back that were the idea of Sienna. I'll have pictures soon, so stay posted.
Best of all, the pricing is really reasonable. The most expensive coats are only 345 pounds (or about $650) and the shirts begin at 40 pounds (or $80).
The line is backed by Carlos Ortega, who owns Pepe Jeans. Sienna once did an ad for Pepe and that's how the idea formed. There will be a store on Westbourne Grove in London and the collection will be sold at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman in the US, Holt Renfrew in Canada and Harvey Nichols and Matches in the UK.
