The Most Valuable CEOs You’ve Never Heard Of
Steve Jobs might have been a household name, but he was far from the country’s top chief executive when it comes to creating value for his company.
Chief Executive magazine has released the results for its fourth Wealth Creation Index for chief executives in the S&P 500, based on the company’s skill at making money, use of capital, and market value.
Express Scripts’ George Paz has taken out the top spot, for his skill at “integrating acquisitions, something few companies are capable of getting right” and improving profit margins, the magazine says. Energy company Exelon's John W. Rowe ranked second, Priceline's Jeffery H. Boyd was third, Timothy Guertin of medical devices company Varian Medical Systems came in fourth. Jobs was No. 5.
The chief executives of Halliburton, Philip Morris, and MetroPCS have all made the top 10 as well.
