Hell Hath No Fury Like George Soros' Scorned Ex-Girlfriend
George Soros, the 80-year-old billionaire financier, is getting sued by his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend for $50 million. The reason: The woman, a Brazilian actress, claims Soros reneged on a promise to give her a $1.9 million Manhattan apartment and caused pain to her over their breakup.
According to the New York Post—which published an exclusive report today with a front-page headline that blared "The billionaire who screwed me"—the lawsuit was filed late Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court. In the suit, Adriana Ferreyr sought damages to compensate for how her five-year-long relationship with Soros ended. The suit alleges that they first split up a year ago, but got back together briefly and Soros told Ferreyr one night while they were in bed that he'd given the apartment to another woman. On top of it all, Soros allegedly slapped Ferryer, the Post reported.
"This is about a lot of money and an apartment," a friend of Soros, the liberal-minded philanthropist who is worth an estimated $14.4 billion, told the paper.
Hey, it's New York City. Isn't just about every argument or fight about money or a good place to live?
