Lady Gaga is finding the dark side to The Fame, as her former business partner and boyfriend Rob Fusari is suing her for between $30-35 million.
Fusari, among other things, takes credit for turning the former grunge rocker Stefani Germonatta into the glam queen Gaga. Fusari said he first sought to place Germaonatta into "an all-girl version of The Strokes," but saw her potential in the world of pop and dance music.
Oh, and Fusari is also taking credit for the name "Lady Gaga," saying it was he who played off of the Queen hit "Radio Ga Ga" to give Germonatta her regal nom de plume.
The pair collaborated on “Paparazzi,” “Brown Eyes” and “Dirty, Rich, Beautiful” on Gaga's debut album, The Fame. The relationship did go from strictly professional to romantic, and when Fusari broke off the romantic aspect in January 2007, the professional relationship went south as well as Gaga began taking on the role of a "woman scorned."
According to the reports, Gaga stopped taking Fusari's phone calls in May 2007 after she signed a deal with Interscope Records. Fusari says that he is owed 20 percent of Gaga's career through her companies Team Love Child and Mermaid Music based on a 2006 contract.
