Attention Jobseekers!
Have you recently been laid off? Are you familiar with financials? Can you decipher the densest corporate gobbledygook? Do you only want to work part time but earn big money? Consider becoming a director of a Fortune 500 company!
Preliminary data from a Corporate Library study of board compensation among large corporations shows that the median compensation for a director came in just under $200,000. The median increase last year was 12 percent, the third straight year of double-digit hikes.
The independent research firm said its survey was based on data from more than 3,000 public companies and covers 27,000 directors. The Corporate Library, which will release its full report early next month, calls it "the most comprehensive analysis of director pay available."
