How much will last week's Supreme Court ruling on sex-discrimination cases affect the grandmother of them all, the superjumbo class-action lawsuit against Wal-Mart?
Both sides agree that the entire case is unlikely to be thrown out, but some women may lose their right to sue and others may be able to recover less than they might have done before the decision.
Defense lawyers are already moving to have other, smaller cases thrown out entirely.
Democrats in Congress are racing to pass legislation to loosen the 180-day limit that a majority on the Supreme Court relied on in its decision. But getting the new law to apply to cases already filed may prove a difficult sell.
