More on BET's Johnson and Obama
Fellow stand up comediam and NY Postie Robert George makes some good points about the Obama-Clinton racial dust up here. with an especially good retort Obama could give to Johnson's line that he has a naive, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner View? of American life. Actually, it takes the whole movie for Spencer Tracy to get hip to the idea of his daughter dating a..."Negro" (the respectful term in the used, as I recall, in the 1967 movie, not meant to imply anything here.) By serendipity, in the movie, the daughter of Tracy and Hepburn meets the man of her dreams in Hawaii. The Aloha State's been in our interracial dreams for years.
The drug thing though, I say, is something the Obama people need to have a better response to if they're gonna be the nominee. Billy Shaheen, Bob Johnson and other Clintonbackers--I say it again, my spouse works for Clinton--might back down after umbrage from the Obama campaign but the Republicans won't. If they managed to take John Kerry's war record and distort it, I think they can find something to work with on "smack" and "blow" from Obama's own book. Of course, if Obama is tough enough to beat Hillary, he'll be tough enough to figure this out.
