The Huckabee-Obama Scrutiny
What's the next big thing in the election now that Oprah's been to Iowa, the debates are over (for now) and Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee have surged? It's all about whether doubts grown about these two. Will Republicans start to think that Huckabee has electibility problems? Same with Obama? (My spouse works for Hillary.) The longer a candidate hangs out there in the lead, the more chance there is for doubt to grow. There's still time for Iowa voters to drift back to Romney and Clinton, the previous front runners. A lot of that will depend on how rough the press is with the new front runners in the coming months. After devoting little reporting to Huckabee until recently, will we now see huge stories about his gubernatorial tenure? Will there be more speculation on how Obama at the head of the ticket would affect Congressional candidates next year?
