Ron Paul's Haul

The $4 million dollar haul that Ron Paul pulled off the other day should be a flare for politicians everywhere. There is a libertarian movement in America. It has power. It will only get bigger. I'm not a privatize-the-sidewalks kind of guy, but I can see it's appeal especially at tax time. Bush has made big-government, big-intervention Republicanism such a hard sell. But I still wonder where the Lou Dobbs voters go, the tough on illegal immigration, tough on trade strain that neither party seems to have much interest in. Watching Monsieur Lou on Larry King last night, I couldn't help but think he might yet toss his name on the ballot even though he's indicated otherwise. He kept calling on some as yet unnamed candidate to come forward and trumpet his issues. Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter came about as close as any candidates but they lack Lou's populism.
