Huckabee's Wild Tax Plans

Mike Huckabee is surging, according to the latest polls. He's now almost tied for second in Iowa. But I think his undoing is going to be this Fair Tax plan of his, you know the elimination of the income tax and replacement with a Value Added Tax. Whatever you think of the merits of that--strikes me as inherently regressive, even if you exempt food--his opponents will use it to strike a fatal blow to his campaign if he ever becomes a real threat. It will terrify voters. I saw Bill Clinton bring Jerry Brown's campaign to a halt in 1992 over the flat tax, which Brown advocated back then, several political incarnations ago. The Fair Tax will be Huckabee's undoing, I predict.
