Al Franken Speaks
I interviewed Al Franken yesterday for Condé Nast Portfolio in front of a group of advertisers and media in Minneapolis. You can hear the interview here from Minnesota Public Radio.
I thought it was quite a discussion, held at the fantastic and hip Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis. Franken teared up talking about Iraq, got in a fight with incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman, and dissed Democrats who condemned the MoveOn Petraeus ad.
He dissed NAFTA, cheered Michael Moore's film, and supported nuclear power and discussed his own evolving position on the war and said John McCain was the least worst of the Republican candidates.
As I told the crowd, I won't claim to be an objective journalist on this. I've known him a long time and like him, but I'm still gonna rip him a new one. The full video will be up on the Portfolio site later this week. Enjoy.
