Bernanke, No Market Whisperer

If you watched the madness today, the markets plummeting again and then recovering and plummeting and recovering, you gotta wonder whether Bernanke has the tender touch to be a market whisperer like Greenspan. (Where's Bob Rubin when we need him? Not a word of of Paulson today.) The Fed's talk of putting more money in play made sense but it clearly wasn't enough to soothe jitters. Bernanke proved to be so wrong in his testimony suggesting that the subprime problems wouldn't spread, I wonder how he regains credibility. Either way, we're still not getting that rate cut.

Chris Dodd, you're the Banking Chairman. Start holding hearings!!! Do something for your campaign.

Can someone step in and be a hero?
