NBAA: Let Them Eat Cinnabon!

How many sweaty, Cinnabon-eating tourists on their way to see the Lion King does it take to equal one corporate fatcat sipping a single-malt on his GIV while returning from his Montana spread?

Quite a few, at least according to Steve Brown, senior vice president for operations at the National Business Aviation Association, a trade group that lobbies for owners of private business aircraft.

In Nelson Schwartz's NYT story today on how the big increase in private-jet traffic is contributing to skyjams, Brown defends the fact that a small private aircraft carries just a few passengers, and yet takes up the same airspace slot of a 737.

"On a business flight, you might have people going to Wall Street from companies who are creating jobs and generating billions of dollars in commerce. People on a commercial flight might be going on vacation or going to New York to go to the theater."

Jack appreciates the tip from Cousin Jeff down the hall.
