Wham-O, the maker of American toys, is being bought by a Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer. From Frisbees to hacky sacks, Wham-O has made a number of now classic toys. Here, a group of students play catch with a flying disc, likely a pie tie, in 1950 at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. A plastic version was invented in 1948 by Walter Frederick Morrison.
