It works as everything from a diaper bag to a yoga-mat tote, but Hayden-Harnett’s Ibiza ($198) was originally conceived to be the ultimate airplane carry-on. Initially offered in black and olive, it’s now available in five colors, with a sixth—a deep chocolate brown—planned for fall.

Critically acclaimed industrial designer Marc Newson has created a vast array of items over the years, from airplane seats to cocktail shakers. His streamlined take on a classic suitcase ($240) comes in Crayola brights, with a podlike insert to help organize its contents and soft wheels for maneuvering through airports. The Scope Marc Newson is available at the W Hotels Store.

Victorinox Swiss Army’s design team looks at fashion and overall trends to forecast seasonal colors for its Werks collection, offering several limited-edition hues each year. This summer’s choices include bright turquoise and a sophisticated chartreuse. Pictured here is the WT-22 Expandable Wheeled Travel Bag ($299).

British designer Stella McCartney’s flamboyant collection of bags for LeSportsac includes a children’s wheeled suitcase and a range of travel totes and accessories. The entire collection, which includes this roomy bag ($395), is made of environmentally correct, recycled eco-polyester.

Singer Gwen Stefani is the driving force behind L.A.M.B., and her influence shows in this bright duffel ($775) that’s equal parts prestige and punk rock. Also available in a smaller handbag size, it’s spacious enough for a few days’ supply of even a major fashionista’s clothes and accessories. Available at Nordstrom.

If your image of a Tumi bag is square, black, and made of ballistic nylon, think again. This shiny weekender ($550) is as solid and sturdy as you’d expect, but it’s hip enough in silver to appeal to younger customers.
