The Holdout
Michael Forbes is waging a campaign to stop Donald Trump from building a golf and housing resort along the coastline north of Aberdeen, Scotland. "Would I sell to Trump? No, never."
The Dunes
Sand dunes on the eight-mile-long Balmedie beach, looking toward Aberdeen, the hub of Scotland's North Sea oil trade. The golf resort would be located beyond the sunlit area.
The Village
Balmedie, population 2,000, is the closest town to the proposed Trump development. Many in the community support the project.
The Vision
Trump International Golf Links would have two golf courses, a conference center, 950 time-share units, dozens of golf villas, as many as 500 private homes, and an eight-story, 450-room Gothic hotel.
The Homestead
Forbes and his mother, Molly, inside her home.The 55-year-old Forbes and his family have lived in a huddle of farm buildings behind the sand dunes for four decades. His 23-acre farm is encircled by Trump's proposed development.
