Timothy G. Shack
Overview
Tim Shack serves as both chief information officer of PNC at the corporate level, as well as president and chief executive officer of PFPC Worldwide Inc, which is among the largest transfer agents and fund accounting and administrative service providers in the global investment industry. Beginning in 1976, Shack has progressed through a series of information technology-related positions with ever-increasing responsibilities, culminating in his being named chief information officer in 1997. The single technology platform built in the 1990s under Shack's direction continues today to provide PNC's core businesses not only with superb internal efficiencies, but it also brings the organization a host of product innovations and processing capabilities that can be sold to national companies such as Net.Bank and American Express. Shack's technological leadership has placed PNC: first among peer banks on the Information Week 500; the Information Week Top 25 Innovators in Collaboration; the Computerworld Top 50 Places to Work in IT; the Gartner Group's ranking of PNC's Data Center among the top 5 percent across all industries; and Peppers and Rogers 2002 1-to-1 Innovator Award for customer-driven solutions. He was named to lead PFPC in 2002. His wealth of experience in information technology adds greatly to PFPC's stated goal of strengthening its role as leading provider of technology and servicing solutions for the global investment industry.
