In an attempt to preserve the value of an investment in Conseco, Inc. by an affiliate of THL, Mr. Hagerty served as the interim chief financial officer of Conseco from July, 2000 until April, 2001. In December, 2002, Conseco filed a petition under the federal bankruptcy code.
