Robert H. Benmosche
Overview
Robert H. Benmosche has been a member of the Board since 2002 and of the Compensation Committee since 2003. His term as a member of the Board expires at the AGM in 2008. The Board has determined him to be independent under the Group's independence standards. Mr. Benmosche was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of MetLife, Inc., New York, from the demutualization of the company in 2000 and of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, New York, from 1998. He retired from these positions in June 2006. Before joining MetLife in 1995, Mr. Benmosche was with PaineWebber, New York, for 13 years, most recently in the position of an Executive Vice President. He received a B.A. degree in Mathematics from Alfred University in 1966.
