R. Lawrence Montgomery

Overview

Mr. Montgomery was elected Chairman of the Board in February 2003. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in February 1999. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1994 and served as Vice Chairman from March 1996 to November 2000. Mr. Montgomery served as Executive Vice President of Stores from February 1993 to February 1996 after joining Kohl's as Senior Vice President-Director of Stores in 1988. He joined us in 1988. Mr. Montgomery began his retail career in 1972. On August 21, 2008, Mr. Mansell succeeds R. Lawrence Montgomery as Chief Executive Officer, who will remain chairman of the board and will hold full time management responsibilities for the organization"s strategic growth and talent management initiatives. Montgomery will continue to manage Kohl"s Human Resources, Legal and Real Estate Departments.
