Overview
Murray S. Kessler is vice chair of Altria Group. In his role, Murray is overseeing the integration of UST into the Altria family of companies. Murray became chairman of UST, the holding company for its principal subsidiaries, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company (USSTC) and Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE), as well as a member of the Board of Directors and chairman of the Strategic Review committee, on January 1, 2008. Previously he served as president and chief executive officer of UST since January 1, 2007. Murray joined USSTC in 1999 with more than 18 years of consumer packaged goods experience at companies including Campbell Soup and Clorox.
