Mr. Kowalski, 55, is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Tiffany & Co. He succeeded William R. Chaney as Chairman at the end of fiscal year 2002 and as Chief Executive Officer in February 1999. Prior to his appointment as President in January 1996, he was an Executive Vice President of Tiffany & Co., a position he had held since March 1992. Mr. Kowalski also served as Tiffany & Co.'s Chief Operating Officer from January 1997 until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer. He became a director of Tiffany & Co. in January 1995. Mr. Kowalski also serves on the board of The Bank of New York. The Bank of New York is Tiffany's principal banking relationship, serving as Administrative Agent and a lender under a Revolving Credit Facility and as trustee of Tiffany's Employee Pension Plan.
