Mr. Gergen has served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development since August 2006 and previously served as Vice President of Business Development from May 2005 to August 2006. Prior to joining us, Mr. Gergen was an independent consultant to biotech and medical technology companies for strategy, financing and corporate development. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Gergen was Executive Vice President at CardioNet, Inc. He held various positions at Advanced Tissue Sciences, Inc. from 2000 to 2003 most recently as Chief Restructuring Officer and Acting CEO. He also served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Development Officer and Vice President, Development, General Counsel and Secretary. From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Gergen was employed at Premier, Inc. and from 1994 to 1999 he held various positions with Medtronic, Inc. From 1990 to 1994 he held corporate development positions at Jostens, Inc. and from 1986 to 1990, he practiced law at various law firms. Mr. Gergen serves on the board of directors of a privately held company. Mr. Gergen received a B.A. in Administration from Minot State University and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
