Overview
Marc Bitzer was named president, Whirlpool Europe, effective January 2006. Prior to this assignment, he served as senior vice president, Marketing Sales and Services, Whirlpool Europe S.r.l., beginning in December 2000. Before joining Whirlpool Europe in 1999, Bitzer held a variety of leadership positions at W.L. Gore & Associates in Munich, Germany, the Institute of Management in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and Simex Trading AC, Gais, Switzerland. Bitzer joined Boston Consulting Group in Munich in 1991, where he was named manager, vice president in 1999. Later that year he was named vice president, Bauknecht Brand Group, Whirlpool Europe S.r.l. Bitzer earned his Ph.D. from the St. Gallen Graduate School of Business, Economics and Law.
