Overview
JOSE H. VILLARREAL, 54, has been one of our directors since May 2005. He has been a partner at the law firm, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, since July 1994. He served on the board of directors of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., from 1998 to 2006, and from 1993 to 1999 served as a presidential appointee to the board of directors of Fannie Mae. He currently serves as Chairman of the board of the New America Alliance, an organization of leading Latino business leaders dedicated to philanthropy, and previously served as Chairman of the board of the National Council of La Raza and Vice-Chairman of the board of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. In 2000, he served as national treasurer of the Gore-Lieberman presidential campaign. He is a member of our Investment and Finance Committee.
