John M. Whiting

Overview

John M. Whiting was appointed Vice President, Finance of Genentech in June 2006, and Chief Accounting Officer in October 1997. He served as Controller from October 1997 to June 2006 and as Vice President from January 2001 to June 2006. He previously served in a variety of financial positions at Genentech from 1989 to 1997. Prior to joining Genentech, he served as Senior Audit Manager at Arthur Young. Effective April 19, 2007, John M. Whiting resigned as Chief Accounting Officer of Genentech, Inc. in connection with his pending retirement from the company. Mr. Whiting will continue in his role as Vice President, Finance of Genentech until his retirement from the company.
