James B. Corcoran

Overview

Mr. Corcoran is Executive Vice President and President, Retail Banking. He joined the Company in 2006 and became a member of the Executive Committee at that time. He is responsible for overseeing all facets of the retail banking franchise, including its store network, small business banking, consumer lending, WaMu Investments, Inc., and all retail products and banking operations. Prior to joining Washington Mutual, Mr. Corcoran had served at Halifax Bank of Scotland since 2000 where he was responsible for its branch retail system and all non-branch distribution channels. On June 27, 2008, the Company replaced James B. Corcoran as President, Retail Banking of the Company with Stephen J. Rotella, who will assume Mr. Corcoran's responsibilities as President, Retail Banking on an interim basis until the Company selects a permanent successor.
