J. Alexander Douglas, Jr., age 45, has served as President of Coca-Cola North America - The Coca-Cola Company since September 2006 and is a member of its Executive Committee. Mr. Douglas was, from January 2003 until September 2006, the Chief Customer & Commercial Officer and a Senior Vice President of The Coca-Cola Company. He joined the Coca-Cola Company in January 1988 as district sales manager in Coca-Cola Fountain, USA and held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. In 1994, he was named Vice President for CCE Sales & Marketing Group, and in 1998 his responsibilities expanded to include the entire North American Field Sales & Marketing Groups. Mr. Douglas graduated from the University of Virginia in 1983 and began his career at The Procter & Gamble Company where he worked in a variety of sales and sales management positions. Mr. Douglas has been one of our directors since August 2001.
